The Morgan family has been involved in breeding and showing Welsh Cobs for an uninterrupted span of over 150 years - a record of which they are justifiably proud.  Moreover, the present stock are the direct descendents of the original bloodlines of the 1840's.

The stud is currently in the capable hands of Daniel Morgan whose Great Grandfather Samuel Davies was an Inspection Judge and one of the founders of the Stud Book at the turn of the Century.  At that time, he registered the stock using the prefix ORMOND which is the name of the folly on the farm. Daniel’s Grandfather D.O Morgan J.P, perpetuated the interest in the Cobs and in 1935 changed the prefix to PARC. When S.D Morgan, Daniel’s father passed away, he left Daniel’s brother Richard the mare Parc Ruby in order to re-established the ORMOND prefix.  As Richard’s son Gethin became more interested, Section As have also been added to the stock at ORMOND as well.

Parc Welsh Maid was covered by Mathrafal at the 1947 Royal Welsh Show at Carmarthen and the following year, one of the most beautiful cobs ever, was born and registered: Parc Lady.  During her illustrious showing career, Parc Lady won the Prince of Wales Cup at the Royal Welsh Show on four consecutive occasions; 1958, 1959, 1960 & 1961.  The mating of Pentre Eiddwen Comet and Parc Lady produced Parc Pride & Parc Welsh Flyer (pictured right) amongst the most noteworthy.  Parc Pride herself produced many noteworthy cobs, the most famous being Parc Rachel and Parc Dafydd, both by Cahn Dafydd and Parc Bonheddwr by Ceredigion Tywysog.  Parc Rachel won the Prince of Wales Cup, the supreme accolade for Welsh Cobs in 1971, 1972 & 1975.
